The long weekend started off with the festive and special\u00a0atmosphere of Loi Krathong, Chiang Mai&#8217;s yearly Lantern Festival. Watching thousands of candles floating on the river and lanterns\u00a0in the\u00a0sky creates a\u00a0very picturesque ambiance (which\u00a0I found however very\u00a0difficult to capture on camera).\u00a0Combined with a massage and delicious Thai\u00a0food it was the perfect way to relax before the next day and the ups and downs of an exhausting but absolutely beautiful trek and bike tour in Chiang Dao.<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, I rounded off the weekend with\u00a0a super interesting and funny one day photo workshop with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ChiangMaiADayofPhotography\">A Day of Photography in Chiang Mai<\/a>. The workshop focused on street portraiture and allowed me\u00a0to get\u00a0up close to the local people and their daily life and experience very precious moments with and without\u00a0my camera.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/street-portraiture-in-chiang-mai\/chiang-mai-portraiture_02\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1522\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone
